NEW Duty To God
Program
Clint: July 11, 2010 My guess
is that it will be fairly difficult to get
12 year old boys to think about goals on their own and write them down. In my experience, it was hard enough to get the boys to plan activities around very specific requirements. I would imagine it will be even more difficult for them to think of activities that will help everyone in the quorum fulfill their individual goals. My guess is that the parents will need to be MUCH more involved than in the previous program.

Thank you soooooo much. I have passed this on to the heads of our auxillaries and our Bishop. They are a tremendous resource and I'm so excited to get the posters now for the young ones as well as the YW. Thank you so much for notifying me. I have children in all these age groups and I agree with ALL the comments on how helpful these are. They are wonderful tools. Thank you so very much! South Carolina
THANK YOU!! I am the Stake Young Men's President and the BIGGEST question I am asked is how do we get the parents more involved... you have given me my answer. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

A mother wrote: "I am so EXCITED to have something
like this for my boys. It will help us all stay on track.
The booklets are nice, but are opened only when mom and
dad sit down with them. This they will see as a daily reminder...!!!
THANK YOU "

The Lindon West stake ordered enough posters so each young
man in their stake can display and track progress in their
home. A mother wrote: "I am from the Lindon West
Stake, and my son received one of the posters. I want to
say thank you! It is already on the wall and in use! It
definitely is more visible than the book that didn't get
opened as often. The poster itself is beautiful, and it
is so easy to read. I may try to use this same poster to
implement goals for the whole family. Thanks again for a
great product!" (stake: qty 450)

"The posters are AWESOME! I provided some training
on the Duty to God program in a breakout session for the
Aaronic Priesthood leaders in our last Stake Conference.
I had just received the posters the day before and hung
them up to show. The response from everyone was great. They
loved them. I have found (at least here) that the biggest
obstacle in implementing the Duty to God program is getting
the parents involved. The posters are perfect because they
involve the parents. When I heard about the posters, I thought
they would be a chart with all the requirements and a row
for each boy. Something to be hung in the church. Something
similar to the BSA troop progress chart. This format is
even better. Thanks." (stake: qty. 180)

The posters are awesome. I really believe they will make
a diffference for our young men. Thanks.

We love our posters and intend on making them a regular
part of the DTG process. We'll be placing fairly regular
orders. Thanks again. (ward: qty. 35)

A ward in Lindon scheduled a YM and parents fireside
to discuss the Duty To God program and orient the parents
on how important their role is in helping their young men.
The YM were given the posters as a tool to help them
stay focused and set some goals with their parents. (ward:

These posters are great! Are the posters updated to show the current service requirements, and reference the new reading resources (i.e. "The Holy Temple ", "Endowed on High " "True to the Faith")???
ANSWER: YES. As of September 2004, the posters reflect ALL the new updates and changes to the duty to god program.

Thanks for the opportunity to display a free set of posters. They will be used at an October 30 LDS/Scouting Relationship Conference at which leaders from 20+ stakes will participate. I am the council's program director, and will use these in a training display so church & scouting leaders know about this resource.
